Sadly, Kay and Pumba weren’t so lucky today. Unfortunately for uBaby, he and his partner scooped the least amount of votes this week and became the sixth couples to leave Big Brother Mzansi Season 2. The two of them couldn't hide their shock but kept it cool and collected as they gave their farewells. It was truly a sad moment as Chelsea fought tears and said goodbye to Pumba after they'd just started really getting close.
It's been a good run by Kay and Pumba and they almost made it to the end. What's your favourite PumKay moment?
It was an emotional farewell for the siblings, Gino and Tiffini. After it was announced that they were the third pair to be leaving they took to the stage and joined Lungile to look over their time on Big Brother Mzansi Season 2.
One of the most polar couples to grace the house, Gino and Tiffini often battled their own demons as siblings but always found a way to make amends and be there for each other when it mattered most.
The kitchen just won’t be the same without the master expertise of Chef Gino and when he wasn’t cooking he was always willing to put on a show or share a word of wisdom to a fellow housemate who was willing to listen.
Surprisingly enough the siblings told Lungile that they weren’t too shocked to have been evicted considering how many times they’d be nominated. Tiffini added, “We don’t usually see eye to eye but things go better,” when Lungile discussed the time she spent with her brother.
As they head back to Cape Town, Ace & Ntombi as well as Chelsea and Mbali will be sure to be sad to see the two go but at least Tiffini’s darling Ex will finally get a show to see what they can make of their brief fling. But what does that mean for Pumba? Maybe they might become our new Mandla and Lexi!
Although their 21 days in the house is over, they both have solid plans for their life after the house. Gino plans on going to his father in Australia and Tiffini would like to pursue a career in entertainment.
We’re sure they’ll both do just fine and hopefully one day we’ll all get to taste Gino’s cooking!
The penultimate live show kicked off with a heartwarming performance by the Ugandan artiste Baby cool that had the in house audience on their feet singing along. IK reminded us that Goitse and Sheillah from Botswana , Idris from Tanzania, JJ from Zimbabwe, Ellah from uganda, Sipe from Malawi, Tayo from Nigeria and Trezagah from Mozambique were all up for eviction.
IK then gave a recap of the #TIA ‘This is Africa’ campaign and their works to change the face of Africa. The one award aims to recover and reward organisations dedicated to uplifting the lives of Africans. The $100,000 award was presented by Fally Ipupa and it went to “friends of the global world Africa” which have fought to help Africa achieve the Millennium development goals and to end poverty in Africa. Furthermore, the star metre for the week went to Sipe for the second week running.
All the housemates appeared tensed as IK asked Idris how the freeze task changed his relationship with his girls to which he said he was cool. IK asked Sipe how Macky2’s girlfriend visit changed her game but she answered that she was cool with him. Macky2 then stood up to say he put up Ellah who he said he considered a strong competitor.
All the nominated housemates were asked to stand up. Sipe, Ellah and Tayo were asked to seat just as Sheillah and Trezagah were told they’ve been evicted from the house.
Goitse and Ellah were the second eviction of the night, making them the 17th and 18th housemates to be given the boot. It was time to bid these gorgeous belles a hearty farewell as they were so close yet sadly so far. With only a week to go to the finale, this was a tough eviction but the dames walked the plank with style and grace.
Following her countrymate's earlier exit Goitse was the second and last remaining Botswanan in the house. Sheillah had become her competion in the game as their countrymen would be split and spoilt for choice. For only a glimmering moment there it looked like she had won them over but her turn was here.
The cool, calm and collected Goitse always treaded with composure. And it was with the very same measure that she accepted her fate as her name was announced alongside Ellah’s. Sipe’s jaw dropped and not so much Idris as she handed out her goodbye hugs and kisses. Goitse walked out wrapped in her nation's flag. Later on Sipe could be seen wiping the tears from her eyes.
With the most number of nominations in the season and after being saved all those many times, Uganda’s beauty queen Ellah had reached her end and the time had finally come for her burning fire to be extinguished. Her frequent appearance on the nominations list – followed by the fact that Africa was always saving her – positioned her as a strong contender and thus threat in the game and it was for this that Macky2 added her.
Looking as dashing as ever Ellah, adjusted her mini skirt, flicked her luscious locks off her shoulder and hit the road. She flew her flag high and glided onto the stage just like the beauty queen she is. Her beau Idris squeezed her in a longing hug goodbye while her buddy Butterphly yelled "I love you!" which she reciprocated.
Ellah wished all the housemates the best and commended Macky2 for being bold, while Goitse joked and said they would be bored without her. Idris' "wives" confirmed that Ellah was his wife for now but Goitse was not about that life.
Fally Ipupa sung the evictees onto stage with a proudly African offering with a modern edge. Both gals had a lot to be proud of and could each hang the accolade of being a Big Brother Hotshots contender on their wall of achievements.
Biggie also asks Tayo what he thought of Figgie, Tayo said that he found Figgie funny and interesting. Sipe says that a lot of people made being Head of House difficult. out how she enjoyed being Head of House and she says that. Idris and Mr.265 are both asked if they feel safe by IK, they both. Sipe says that she nominated Samantha as she is strongest.
It is now down to business as IK calls the auditor to bring him the results. Idris. Goitse, Macky2, Idris and Samantha are all asked to stand up as. They know the drill. IK tells Idris and Macky2 to sit and informs the remaining standing housemates that two of them will be leaving. IK tells them that it is Samantha and Mr.265 who's dreams of winning Big Brother Hotshots have come to an end. Butterphly sobs, as does Sheillah and there are hugs all around.
Biggie shows us a teazer of some of Big Brother Africa's ex-housemates. Biggie has something up his sleeve. What could it be?
Frankie is Rwanda's second housemate to be evicted after Arthur was given his marching orders last week.
Firs the time came for Idris to announce his "add" and by so doing, the fate of an unassuming Butterphly. Butterphly tried but couldn't hide her shock. When he told her that he did it, in fact, for her own good, to beef up her chops, so to speak, and breathe confidence into her game by showing her just how strong she was a contender all she could do was smile at her possible fate.
Having said it countless times before, that she wasn't strong enough to survive a nomination bout, this ought to help put things into sharp perspective for her. As it turned out, the boy was onto something.
Then Butterphly, Nhlanhla, Permithias, Ellah, Frankie and Trezagah were all asked to stand. Rwanda then became the next country to lose their final representative as Frankie was asked to exit the house to much shock and tears.
While on stage with IK, Frankie said he is going to concentrate on his music career and also carry on modelling. They showed his highlights in the house where he talked about Goitse and Ellah, going through his divorce and said that he was holding back, he also mentioned that Ellah really caught his eye. The 33-year-old was sad to say goodbye.
It was a bitter-sweet time when winners of the Shadow dance/stomp extravaganza were announced and soon after the first evictee was sent packing out the house. Mamokebe Sekhukhune from the auditors, SizweNtsalubaGododo, came on stage with the envelop which contained the name of the first evictee. Sekhukhune confirmed that the voting results had been verified and soon after, IK crossed over to the housemates to give them the eviction news but before then, shared the results of last night’s Extravaganza winner which the viewers voted on.
The vote was between team Downtown Beats and Urban Pulse. IK congratulated both teams on an amazing display of talent during the Extravaganza and with that announced the winner. Team Downtown Beats won the Extravaganza and the members of this team were ecstatic but their celebrations were cut short as IK dangled the infamous envelop and told them he was ready to deliver the dreaded news. JJ was firstly made to stand up to reveal which housemate he had added to the list on Monday night in the diary room and he boldly called out Frankie’s name and stated that he felt he had no respect for him but that they had since sorted their differences.
All the nominated housemates werea sked to stand, Arthur, Sheillah and Mr. 265 were told to remain standing and Kacey Moore, Luis, Macky2 and Frankie were asked to sit. Arthur was told to leave the house as Sheillah and Mr. 265 were told to sit. Arthur hugged some housemates and left Sipe, Goitse and Sheillah crying. Arthur told IK that he had achieved so much by being in the house and that the exposure he got was the most important.
With Arthur already evicted, Biggie decided to send two more housemates home by announcing that tonight is a triple eviction night. There was the potential of Rwanda losing all of their representatives in the house as both Frankie and Arthur were up for eviction. However, Biggie wasted no time in breaking the hearts of Kacey Moore and Luis. I am sure that Kacey Moore's wife will be happy to get her man back in her arms and Mira will be over the moon to have Luis back in her waiting arms.
Rwanda, Ghana and Namibia all have one less person in the house to vote for. Biggie counted down their exit as there were hugs aplenty and more tears. Ellah was overwrought and wept openly, she clearly was very attached to Kacey Moore.
While the freshly evicted housemates made their way across to the live studio, Patoranking wowed the crowd with his dancehall hit "Girlie O." He showed his star quality on the biggest African stage of them all. The crowd sangs along and danced, loving one of Africa's biggest artists.
Kacey Moore talked to IK about him breaking down in the house. "I am the happiest man in the world, right now." He feels it is Christmas as he is now going to see his wife and child.
Luis was next up and he talked about More. Luis said that he has to go and find her and he has "not been in love for a long time."
Kacey Moore said that his best friend in the house was Ellah and he gave her a massive shout out. Luis then said that he thinks that either Idris and Tayo will win while Kacey Moore wants Ellah to win. The "model with the qualification" and Kacey Moore were coy at saying who they want out, Kacey Moore finally said Frankie, and Luis said Mr. 265 because according to him, "he is playing ming games."
With 10 Housemates out, 16 are now left in the running for the USD300,000 Big Brother Hotshots grand prize.
After the departure of Alusa and Laveda last Sunday, 7 more contestants are up for eviction. We are up now on day 23 and we are almost getting into half of Big Brother Africa Hotshot show, which is expected to end after 63 days. Which Contestant will you be voting for? Which contestant would you like evicted from Big Brother Africa house?
1. Mr. 265 2. Kacey Moore 3. Luis 4. Sheillah 5. Arthur 6. Macky2 7. Frankie
Three of the housemates have been up for eviction every week, JJ,Permithias and Ellah. Alusa is up for the first time. Macky 2 and M’am Bea are also up for eviction. JJ, Permithias and Ellah have been unhappy about being nominated.
IK prolongs the agony by first asking Ellah about a Big Brother Africa first, Biggie singing “Happy Birthday” to her on air, he also asks her about the “Jacuzzi situation.” Mr 265 is then asked about whom he thinks is wasting food in the house. Arthur is next in the hot seat from IK as he has been having nightmares and IK asks him “have you been sleeping well?” Sheillah is asked about her controversial hair-cut, having shaved it bald on air.
Nhlanhla reveals whom he nominated and then it is straight into the evictions, he tried to be fair about whom he put up. He based his decision on the Head of House task and chose Macky 2 as he had the least votes. The nominated housemates are told to stand, Macky 2 and Ellah are told to sit whilst JJ must continue standing whilst M’am Bea and Alusa are asked to sit as well as Permithias who is also asked to sit. JJ and Laveda are the last ones standing with Laveda being the first (and sixth) female this week to be evicted. She is in tears and hugs everybody she can. Each week it gets more emotional.
Soon after the first eviction show yesterday, each remaining housemate was called to the diary room to make their two nominations. All housemates had to nominate and include valid reasons for their nominations. Biggie’s rule was simple: if a housemate refuses to nominate, they themselves will automatically be put up for eviction. So it goes without saying that all housemates managed to come forth with nominations.
Frankie, Tayo and JJ are leading in the nominations. Whilst many find Tayo’s loudness and abrasiveness distasteful, other housemates reckon Frankie lacks presence and that JJ is full of himself with a ‘know-it-all’attitude.
First in the diary room was Alusa who nominated Esther and Tayo. He said that he did not connect with Esther and found Tayo to be aggressive. One wonders if he is not intimidated by these housemates. Arthur was next and he nominated JJ and Sabina. He said that JJ was the reason his group lost the Extravaganza and that Sabina shouted a lot in her bid to shine.
Butterphly nominated Frankie and Esther because they had gone cold on her and the result being that they were not getting along anymore. Ellah nominated Tayo because he is aggressive and reckoned they could do without that energy in the house. Her second nomination was Laveda whom she said came off as controlling and so had not gotten to know her better.
After much struggling, Esther finally settled on her nominations- JJ and Permithias. She said that JJ was not a good listener in the group task and that Permithias was provocative and rehashed unnecessary past issues. Frankie nominated Tayo because he talks down on people, he said he is immature and very condescending. He also nominated JJ because he always puts the work of others down.
Goitse nominated Esther and and Lillian because she felt they were both poor team players and even after their team lost the extravaganza, they sought to put the blame on other team members. Idris nominated Frankie because he didn’t quite blend in the house and Permithias because he is trying to play the girls. JJ nominated Lillian because of her negativity in their group and Laveda because she began abusing her rights as HoH.
Kacey Moore nominated Frankie for the same reason as that of Idris and Sabina because she hasn’t been accommodative of others. Laveda nominated JJ because she felt he failed at his task of being a director for their show as they lost and Frankie for not being forthcoming with himself. Lillian nominated JJ because she felt he had a ‘big head’ and felt Alusa couldn’t humble himself in a group set-up.
Luis wanted Alusa to go because he reminded him of Mira and JJ because he came across as a ‘know-it-all’. Mr. 265 nominated Permithias because he had no self-control with how far he pushed people and Arthur because he seemed to be resistant to criticism and stuck in his own world. Macky2 nominated Laveda for being unfair in the manner in which she selected her teams and Frankie for not being real and closing himself up in his shell.
M’am Bea said Esther and Sabina needed to learn other ways of showing respect in their speech and therefore nominated them for being smart mouths. Nhlanhla said Tayo was too loud and abrasive and had no specific reason for nominating Sabina. Permithias said Tayo disrespected women and said Frankie was lost in everything and risked becoming irrelevant in the house. Sabina wanted to get rid of Lillian because she felt they had similar strategies and Tayo for being a loud mouth.
Samantha nominated Frankie and Arthur because she wanted to evict a complete pair from a country to avoid friction with one’s fellow countryman. Sheilla nominated Frankie for his obscure character and Permithias for being annoying. Sipe called Tayo rude and immature and nominated Permithias for not being responsible with house chores. Tayo said JJ had no character and wanted to be like him and said Permithias was a coward not fit for the house.
Trezagah nominated Samantha for bad-mouthing Mozambican men and said the unpleasant dream he had about her confirmed his choice to nominate her. He also nominated Esther because she shouts a lot and is the only one who smokes in the house.
Don't forget to chat with us in response to this week's Star Meter: Which Big Brother Hotshot Housemate has the X factor?
According to this week's votes: Resa and Mira received the lowest votes.
One housemate received two country votes: Macky2. Eleven housemates received 1 country vote each; Arthur, Butterphly, Esther, Goitse, Idris, M'am Bea, Nhlanhla, Permithias, Sabina, Sipe, Tayo and Trezagah. Twelve housemates received 0 country votes, which means that the tie breaker rule came into effect.
According to the Big Brother Africa rules: if the Popularity vote does not yield clear evictees and there is a deadlock between 2 or more housemates, the percentage vote from each of the 15 regions will be added together and divided by 14 in order to generate an across-the-board percentage, which will then ascertain who stays and who goes.
Therefore, the two housemates that were evicted as per the tie-breaker rules are: Resa and Mira.
The second evictee in tonight’s first eviction show is the pretty and slender lady from Mozambique. Mira started off appearing as a shy girl on the show but in the first diary session with Biggie, she assure him that she was not at all shy and wished Africa to understand this. She said that she was just very nervous at the launch show and may have given off that she was shy.
Perhaps Africa began believing that she was not much of a shy girl with the scandal on Friday’s party night when she kissed Luis and Nhlanhla. This was not anticipated from the reserved and somewhat quiet lass but all that was forgotten as events were blamed on the alcohol.
Tonight it was sad to see her go. When her name was annouced she immediately lunged into Luis' arms for the last embrace in Biggie's house. Luis cried and Idris and Sipe comforted him. She embraced Luis again and they kissed as she rushed out of the house.
She told IK that she was happy to be out of the house as she had been missing home. She also said that she enjoyed getting to know Trezagah from Mozambique.
Keep watching Big Brother Africa and bear witness as the atmosphere changes in the house.
SizweNtsalubaGobodo are the official auditors for Big Brother Hotshots. They are given the unenviable task of tallying up the votes and announcing the unlucky evictees and to give a stay of execution to the remaining housemates who were also up for eviction.
How does the vote work, you might ask? All week the continent has been voting for their favourite housemates and as there are thirteen countries and one ROA vote. Viewres vote via social media and via SMS. Each vote cast using these methods all carry equal weight, that being one viewer popularity vote. Viewer popularity votes will be tallied for each housemate eligible for eviction within each voting region. The housemate with the most votes per region will receive that regions popularity vote, (if a tie occurs, the region popularity vote will be split equally). Those with the least regional votes are evicted. If there is a tie, a second round of votes will be tallied.
The first person to be evicted form the Big Brother Hotshots is Resa. She is asked to leave the house and soon joins IK on the live stage for her live interview. The room seemed to turn cold as 12 housemates were made to stand. Resa seemed to take the news well but the news did not go down well with her friend Sipe, who immediately wept. Esther shouted out "I love you Resa" as she as the Zambian lass hurried out of the house. She told IK that she was at piece with the turnout of events and mentioned that she would miss Sipe the most.
Surprisingly, Dillish is the winner of Big Brother Africa The Chase. This comes as a suprise as many people expected Melvin Oduah to win.
After expressing her desires to be the first woman to win the Big Brother grand prize, since Zambia's Cherise did so seven seasons ago, Dillish has done it for Africa's women!
The sexy Namibian lass actually won it with one vote more than the Zambian female rapper Cleo, Dillish got five votes from Africa while Cleo got four from Africa. Dillish’s victory is one that won’t be forgotten by all the Big Brother Africa fans as she didn’t spent 91 days in the Big Brother house without being Head of House at any one moment.
1st Runners Up
Cleo is the first runners up. She is the second contestant, who unfortunatelly was beaten by Dillish to win USD $300,000.
"Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves" was a hit track in 1985 that was a collaboration between the British pop duo Eurythmics and American Soul singer Aretha Franklin and now 28 years later those words still ring true. Congratulations to both of the ladies! Please note: DStv channels 197 and 198 will be terminated at the end of tonight's Live Eviction Show.
Its a round up for Nigeria as Melvin is evicted from BBA The Chase after Beverly Osu was evicted. Seems like Nigeria will have to try out their luck next time. We however have to give credit where it is due.
Melvin has had a great run on the show and became the most decorated HOH in this season of Big Brother The Chase. At one time, the soft spoken model put himself up for possible Eviction and he was lucky enough to survive back then.
Well, sad for Nigeria but at least her reps have been good ambassadors on the Chase no wonder they made it to the grand finale.
Now still in the running for the USD 300.000 are Zambia’s Cleo, Namibia’s Dillish and Ghana’s Elikem.
